1. Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how Rattlestork UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (“RattleStork”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you use rattlestork.org (the “Website”). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and what options you have. To the extent personal data are processed in this context, our Privacy Policy also applies.
Storing information on your device and accessing it are governed by Section 25 TDDDG. Subsequent processing of personal data is also subject to the legal bases required by the GDPR.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files in your browser. We also use local browser storage and device storage in the apps. These may store your language, units of measurement, search filters, login and privacy choices.
3. Why we use cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Necessary functions: login, security and saving your choices. Where access is strictly necessary for a service you expressly request, Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG applies.
- Usage analytics: audience measurement, error diagnosis and usability improvements based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; Section 25(1) TDDDG).
- Campaign attribution: attributing visits and registrations to campaigns based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; Section 25(1) TDDDG).
You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Necessary access is separate from optional usage analytics and campaign attribution.
4. How to control cookies
Make your choices in the banner and change them through the privacy controls on the Settings page. You can reject optional categories or withdraw consent there. Core features remain available without optional analytics.
Additionally, you can delete or block cookies in your browser. This may restrict functionality. 'Do Not Track' signals are not uniformly supported across browsers; therefore, your settings in the consent manager will be authoritative.

5. Essential cookies
The following first-party entries support login, language and privacy choices. Lifetimes refer to the respective browser entry; server-side data is stored separately.

6. Analytics and customization
With your analytics consent, we use Google Analytics (GA4) and PostHog. These services collect usage data and errors. Identifiers may be associated with your account when you log in. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection.

Campaign attribution
Only after you have allowed both usage analytics and advertising are campaign parameters and click identifiers linked through the first-party cookie rs_attribution_v1. The cookie expires after 30 days. On registration, the source may be associated with your account; that association is separate from the cookie expiry.

We update this policy when technologies, legal frameworks, or our processes change. The date above shows the current version.
